Private Lessons

The teachers at the Folk School of Chattanooga offer private lessons year-round for banjo, fiddle, guitar, dobro, pedal steel guitar, upright bass, Irish flute, tin whistle, singing, piano, hammered dulcimer, mountain dulcimer, and mandolin.  Your private lesson is scheduled between you and your instructor.

Private lesson rate: $40/hour.

Instrument Explorers

Don’t know what instrument you’d like to play? Make an appointment for a one-hour “Instrument Explorers” session, and we’ll be your guide as you try one of everything.  An Instrument Explorers Session can be fun for you and a buddy to try together, or as a family activity!

Explorers Session + 3 half-hour private lessons on the instrument of your choice: $100.
